Excellent writing by a fine author. The details of the scenes created vivid imagery in my mind and made for an enjoyable read. I'm excited to get a copy of the second book by Helen.
This is the most wonderful love story all about sweet home Alabama!! Could not put it down until I finished. Helen captured the essence of home beautifully!
this is a book that brings back the back down home feelings of families in the South and the women who cooked using old family recipes.
Excellent reading! Once I started it was hard to put this book down. It's fun to read when you are so familiar with the area and towns that author is writing about. I loved the characters in this story and the gathering of musicians truly brought back memories of my Dad, brother and many other family members that would come together playing guitars and singing.
Looking forward to reading the next book, "The Gifts of Joy".
I loved this sweet book. If you get a second chance, don't wait too long, grab it and run. If you like music and romance, I highly recommend. Best read on a full stomach as all the talk of down home southern cooking will make make your heart ache and your mouth water.
Ms Taylor is a gifted writer. She has a way with words and she uses the southern voice to detail the characters she writes about. I live in the area that she write about and it is amazing how well she draws from her background to make her characters real and makes you want to read more about them and her. She is a gifted artist and she understands the hard times that people in the rural south made do.
